STC’s Council of Advisors Addresses Political Scene and Economic Situation in the South

The Administrative Body of the Council of Advisors of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its first regular meeting for the month of May on Tuesday, in the capital, Aden, chaired by Ahmed Al-Rubaizi, Vice President of the Council of Advisors.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Council of Advisors congratulated President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council, the Transitional Council, and the people of the South, on the eighth anniversary of the historic Aden Declaration. They praised the major national achievements made since that historic declaration, which restored the South’s political standing and status at the regional and international levels.

The Council of Advisors of the Southern Transitional Council commended the steadfastness of the heroes of the Southern Armed Forces on all battlefronts, who are courageously confronting the terrorist Houthi militias, including the Al-Had Yafa front and border positions, in defense of the South’s borders and sovereignty.

The meeting discussed the report submitted by the Advisory Committee on Foreign Affairs, which addressed the opening of the Transitional Council’s mission in Washington. This mission represented the opening of diplomatic channels in decision-making countries to consolidate a promising strategic partnership with the United States, explaining the aspirations of its people for freedom and independence.

During its meeting, the committee reviewed a summary of the report of the Advisory Committee on Economic Affairs, which addressed the deteriorating living, economic, and social conditions in the south, the failure of officials to find radical solutions to electricity service, and the deterioration of the local currency against foreign currencies, which impacts citizens’ lives.

At the meeting, the Advisory Committee on Culture and Media Affairs presented a detailed report on the media landscape in the south, in addition to a survey of the cultural situation in Lahj Governorate during April of this year, the difficulties and challenges it faced in its work, and the recommendations contained therein.

The committee concluded its meeting by reviewing and approving the previous minutes, in addition to discussing a number of proposals and recommendations and taking the necessary action.
