STC’s Deputy Secretary General Meets with Delegation of CMI for Peace in Aden the capital

Mr. Fadhl Al-Jaadi, the Deputy Secretary-General of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), met on Monday in the capital, Aden, with Ms. Julia Pickardt, Project Manager of the Middle East and North Africa at the CMI-Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation, and Mr. Marwan Ali, Advisor to the CMI for the Middle East and North Africa, in the presence of Mr. Anis Al-Sharafi, deputy director of the General Directorate of Foreign Affairs (GDFA) of the STC.

In the meeting, Al-Jaadi welcomed the delegation, giving a brief explanation about the cause of the people of the South and their determination to restore and build their state, stressing the importance of including the cause of the people of the South in the comprehensive peace process and negotiations to end the war since it is the cornerstone in the political scene.

Al-Jaadi stressed that the people of the South will never budge even a single inch from the path of fulfilling their goals in restoring the fully independent state of the South and all their legitimate rights, pointing to the significance of executing all prior agreements reached and obligating repudiating parties to implement their commitments as per the dictated provisions and paradigms of those agreements.

Likewise, Al-Jaadi valued the endeavors of the United Nations in supporting peace in the entire region, reviewing the most prominent developments in the situation at various levels, in addition to the obstacles and difficulties hindering the progress of work to expedite finding appropriate solutions.

In turn, Ms. Pickardt and Mr. Ali offered thanks for the good reception and cooperation, appreciating the efforts made by the STC and its support for peace, noting that the CMI deals with crystallized visions in the course of finding solutions to different issues and doing its best to accelerate solutions with all parties on the ground.
