STC’s Political Commission Holds Periodic Meeting and Reviews Peace Process Developments

The Political Commission (PC), assisting the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), held its periodic meeting today, Thursday, chaired by Dr. Nasser Al-Khubaji, Head of the PC and Head of the Negotiations Unit of the STC.
The meeting was initiated by focusing on the political process in light of the continued attacks of the Houthi terrorist militia and the targeting of civilian facilities, as well as the mobilization in border areas, warning of their repercussions on the course of the comprehensive political process.
The meeting reiterated the STC’s support for the international endeavors aimed at achieving peace as per the political process, prioritized with putting a special negotiating framework for the cause of the South as a political option that meets the aspirations of the people of the South to restore their state and fully achieve stability in the entire region, warning at the same time of the collapse of the proposed political process due to Al-Houthi’s continued attacks and escalation on the South.
The meeting listened to certain briefings on international participation in the Jordanian capital, Amman, with the Office of the UN Special Envoy, the German “Berghof” Foundation (BF), and the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) in the Tunisian capital, as well as developments in the political situation on the local and international arenas.
Furthermore, the meeting stressed the importance of national cohesiveness at this defining political stage in the history of the South, noting that the dialogue contributed to convergent points of view and understanding between the political components of the South.
The PC also studied the reports submitted by the affiliated bodies and administrators of the PC and a range of topics and issues related to its work and organizational performance and took the appropriate measures.
