STC’s Political Commission Holds Regular Meeting and Commends Valor and Sacrifice of the Southern Armed Forces

The political commission (PC) assisting the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its periodic meeting for the second half of March 2024 in the capital Aden today, Sunday, in the capital, Aden, chaired by Dr. Khaled Ba-Madhaf, deputy head of the PC.

The PC reviewed a report on the local, regional, and international political scene, including the latest developments in internal and external affairs, presented by the Monitoring Section of the Commission.

The PC listened to a report on the military and security situation presented by Brigadier General Fadhl Maabad, Head of the Moral Guidance Division of the Southern Ground Forces, to be briefed on the general military situation on the various border fighting fronts against the terrorist Houthi militia and the pivotal role of the Southern Armed Forces in confronting the Houthi militia, combating terrorism, and maintaining security and stability in the governorates of the South.

In its meeting, the PC appreciated the sacrifice and valor of the heroes of the Southern Armed Forces and their legendary heroism in confronting and responding to the desperate attempts of the Houthi militia on various fronts. In the same context, they commended the interest and support of the political leadership of the Southern Armed Forces, represented by President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi.

The PC discussed the recent efforts to revive the political process led by the United Nations to bring peace to the region and its outcomes, as well as the developments related to the Houthi escalation in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandeb Strait, and the Gulf of Aden and its repercussions on the country and the region.

At the end of its meeting, the PC reviewed a range of topics on its agenda and took appropriate decisions and recommendations in that regard.
