STC’s Presidency Lauds Efforts of Al-Bahsani in Uniting Hadhrami Ranks and Fortifying Against Targeting Attempts

The Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its periodic meeting on Tuesday, chaired by President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the STC.

In the beginning of the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi gave a warm welcome to Major General Faraj Salmeen Al-Bahsani, Vice President of the STC and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), praising his keenness to come to the capital, Aden, to attend this meeting.

After that, the meeting listened from Major General Al-Bahsani to a brief explanation of the series of meetings that he held in Hadramout with political and community forces, sheikhs, and social and tribal personalities, highlighting that through those meetings, he felt full concern for the cause of the South and an emphasis on the importance of Hadramout and its location within the South in the past, present, and future.

The Presidency praised the movements of Major General Al-Bahsani in Hadramout governorate and his efforts to unify the Hadhrami ranks, strengthen its social fabric, and fortify the community against all attempts targeting it, reiterating that Hadramout has always been and will definitely remain the strategic depth of the South, its identity enrooted in history, and a fundamental pillar in the project of the aspired federal state of the South.

In another context, the Presidency listened to the rapporteur of the National Assembly, Mr. Nasr Harhara, who gave a briefing on what the restructuring committee of the Assembly has accomplished and the criteria followed in the process of replacing the members of the Assembly, underscoring the importance of continuing to apply the standards on which the Assembly was founded, with focusing on the criterion of area and population, and the importance of fully representing all segments of society, applauding in the context of the election process that took place at the level of governorates and districts as a first experience of democratic work within the framework of the STC and an optimal way of transitioning from the stage of revolution to the stage of building state institutions.

To the end of its meeting, the Presidency discussed a range of topics and issues related to the local scene, in addition to the work of the STC’s bodies, and took the appropriate measures in this regard.
