STC’s Presidency Reviews Latest Developments in Shabwa and Valley of Hadramout

The presidency of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its meeting, on Saturday, chaired by the president Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the STC and stood before the latest developments in the military and security situations in Shabwa governorate, and the districts of Valley and Desert of Hadhramaut.
Initially, the presidency listened to a report on the overall situation in Shabwa governorate provided by Member of the STC’s Presidency Mr. Salem Thabet Al-Awlaqi, reiterating in this regard its full support for the local authority in the governorate, and its condemnation of the continuing attempts by the rebellious forces
to destabilize the situation in Jardan and Arma’a districts, and the continued mobilization of these militias from the First Military Division and the Yemeni Mareb governorate towards Shabwa, calling on the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) to take a decisive position on these militias and cease their mobilizing operations towards Shabwa and the Valley areas of Hadramaut.
In the meeting, which was attended by several ministers in the power-sharing government, the presidency stressed the importance of enabling the people of Shabwa to manage the affairs of their governorate in all the fields, and their right to derive a benefit from its resources, in addition to secure and and protect it apart from the interference of any political forces.
The presidency focused on a brief speech on the situation in the districts of Valley and Desert of Hadhramaut delivered by member of Presidency of the STC, Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, as the presidency steadfastly expressed its assistance and support for all the efforts of the local authority represented by Mr. Mabkhout Mubarak Ben Madhi, governor of Hadhramaut governorate in maintaining the security and stability, reaffirmed its endorsement to enable the people of the governorate to secure and manage the poltical, public, military, security and administrative affairs of their governorate, and rejecting any attempts to diminish such orientation by imposing certain decrees conflict with the will of the people of Hadhramaut.
In a separate context, the Presidency reviewed the risks of environmental pollution caused by the steel-hulled ships stuck in the coasts of the capital, Aden, the governorates of Hadramout, and Socotra as they listened from the minister of transportation and the minister of Agriculture and Fish Wealth to the procedures that have been taken by these two ministries to dislodge the shipwreck, remove hazards and sue the owners of those streel-hulled ships for the risks and hazards caused the marine environment.
