STC’s Presidential Guidance and Oversight Team Meets the Southern Independent Anti-Corruption Commission in Aden the capital

The Presidential Guidance and Oversight Team of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), headed by Mr. Essam Abdo Ali, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly of STC and Vice Chairman of the Team, held a meeting this morning with the leadership of the Southern Independent Anti-Corruption Commission.
During the meeting, the team listened to a detailed explanation presented by the Commission’s Chairman, Engineer Abdulrahman Ali Yahya, who reviewed the foundational stages of the Commission’s formation. He explained the legal framework and organizational structure of the Commission, its internal programs for uncovering and monitoring corruption cases, and the challenges the Commission has faced since its establishment.
The meeting addressed the nature of the Commission’s work and its oversight role. The Commission’s leadership reviewed the most prominent corruption cases that have been detected during the past period and the number of cases that have been referred to the Public Prosecution and the courts to ensure that the necessary legal measures are taken against the entities included in the reports related to financial and administrative irregularities and violations.
The meeting also addressed key issues the Commission has been working on, related to several governmental and private sectors, which have played a direct and active role in curbing corruption and promoting accountability and transparency.
For his part, Mr. Essam Abdo commended the significant efforts undertaken by the Southern Commission in combating and exposing corruption. He praised its institutional performance and its national role in establishing the values of integrity and accountability, affirming the readiness of the Presidential Guidance and Oversight Team to provide the necessary support to enable the Commission to fulfill its duties and achieve the objectives for which it was established within the framework of building the desired institutions of the Southern state.
