SMA NEWS – ADEN THE CAPITAL
The Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its periodic meeting, on Tuesday, chaired by Mr. Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, the Secretary General of the Presidium of the STC, Minister of State, Governor of the Capital, Aden.

In its meeting, the Presidium affirmed its full support for the efforts made by Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al-Zou’ari, Minister of Social Affairs and Labour (MSAL), regarding the execution of Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) resolution No. (10) of the year 2022, which stipulated transferring the headquarters of the Social Welfare Fund (SWF) to the capital, Aden, as of July 21, 2022, stressing that it is necessary to take the appropriate measures to enforce its implementation, and to address international donors to supply aid and financial grants for the SWF to the Central Bank in Aden.

Likewise, the Presidium stressed that the Prime Minister has expeditiously to execute the decree of the PLC and to launch the process of transferring the headquarters of the SWF and the Roads and Bridges Maintenance Fund (RBMF) to the capital, Aden, which is stipulated to be immediately enforced from the date of its issuance.

The Presidium, too, stood before the ongoing endeavours to revive the path of negotiations to extend the truce, reiterating the prior position of the STC to deal with the Houthi militia in accordance with the decree of the National Defense Council as a terrorist group, and to follow the procedures in pursuance of this decree.

In the same context, the Presidium highlighted that any movements by the UN special envoy should be directed to pressure on the Houthi militia, which is non-compliant with

its recognized obligations and paradigms of the truce, and to push them ahead to implement their previous commitments, and not to put pressure on the positively responding part, that leads to negatively enabling the Houthi militia to obtain additional concessions in return for nothing.

To the end of the meeting, the Presidium discussed several topics and issues on its agenda and took appropriate measures in such regard.
