STC’s Secretariat Discusses Political Report on the Southern Landscape

The General Secretariat of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its periodic meeting on Wednesday in the capital, Aden, chaired by Mr. Fadhl Mohammed Al-Gaadi, member of the Presidium of the STC and Secretary-General of the General Secretariat.
The meeting discussed a bi-weekly report on the political landscape of the southern national scene submitted by the Political Department, which included the visit of President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi to America and his participation in the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly; the visit of the UN Special Envoy to Aden and his recent statement on the cause of the people of the South, and the threats of undocumented African immigrants, which resulted in igniting sectarian conflict in the governorates of the South.
The General Secretariat stood before a range of developments taking place in the governorates of the South, on top of which are the rise in oil prices, the increase in power outages, and the deterioration of water service in the capital, Aden, as the Secretariat emphasized the urgent need to re-operate Aden Refinery to overcome many difficulties.
The meeting reviewed a report on the completion of the activities of the departments of the Secretariat during the past week, in addition to reviewing and approving the minutes of the previous meeting.
