STC’s Secretariat Salutes Southern Armed Forces on 52nd Founding Anniversary of the South Army

The General Secretariat of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its periodic meeting on Wednesday in the capital, Aden, chaired by Mr. Fadhl Mohammed Al-Gaadi, member of the STC’s Presidium and deputy secretary general.

In the beginning of the meeting, the General Secretariat extended sincere greetings and incessant gratitude to the southern armed forces on the 52nd founding anniversary of the South Army, corresponding to the 1st of September, and to the commanders, officers, and soldiers from the founding generation of the regular southern military establishment, and to the commanders of our military and security armed forces who projected the meanings of loyalty and belonging as they embodied and are still embodying heroic epics in defending the South on all fronts against terrorist groups who want to reoccupy the South or destabilize its security and stability.

The meeting discussed the report of the political landscape on the southern national scene submitted by the Political Department, which included the prominent political events over the past two weeks, the most important of which was the visit of President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi to Abyan Governorate and his attendance at the consultative meeting of sheikhs and notables of the tribes of the governorate and the holding of the consultative meeting of Yafale’a tribes in Hadramout.

The meeting reviewed the latest preparations to hold a commemorative event for the late commander, Major General “Mohammed Muthanna Al-Mahjari”. In this context, the Secretariat and the Supreme Military Commission of the Southern Army called on all the people of the South to attend and participate in the event that will be held tomorrow morning, Thursday, in the capital, Aden, in fulfillment and gratitude for the heroic roles that he performed in defending the land of the South.

The meeting focused on a range of developments in the governorates of the South at the social, security, economic, and service levels.

The meeting also touched on a report on the achievements of the activities of the departments of the Secretariat during the past week, in addition to reviewing and approving the minutes of the previous meeting.
