STC’s Secretariat Surveys Economic and Political Landscape in the South

The General Secretariat of the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its periodic meeting on Wednesday in the capital, Aden, chaired by Mr. Fadhl Mohammed Al-Gaadi, member of the STC’s Presidium and Secretary-General of the General Secretariat, and in the presence of Mr. Abdo Ali Al-Naqeeb, Assistant Secretary-General.
The meeting shed light on the economic scene report during the first half of November 2023, submitted by the Economic and Service Department, which dealt with the most prominent economic issues in the southern arena, including the problems of paying state employees salaries in the South through banks, in addition to the successive increase in fuel prices and its negative impact on all aspects of life.
The meeting, too, discussed a report on the political scene during the past two weeks of this month, December, which was submitted by the political department and included a range of political developments in the southern scene.
The meeting touched on a range of developments taking place in the social and security aspects of the governorates of the South, most notably the directives of President Aidarous Al-Zoubaidi to prevent collecting illegal taxes on the international coastal area.
The meeting reviewed and approved its previous minutes, as well as the weekly activity report of the departments of the Secretariat.
