Tenders Committee in Aden holds meeting chaired by Lamlas and approves emergency projects program to improve service sector

The Governor of the capital, Aden, Mr. Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, chaired a meeting of Tenders Committee in the capital.

At the meeting, which was attended by the governorate’s Undersecretary for Development Affairs, Eng. Adnan al-Kaf, and directors of some targeted facilities, the committee reviewed the final documentation of the emergency project package in the capital, Aden, submitted by the targeted service facilities.

After extensive discussion and analysis of the submitted offers, the committee approved a number of urgently necessary projects for the water and sewer sector, including engines for well fields, as well as sewage pumps.

In its meeting, the committee also agreed to purchase a number of cranes and vehicles for the traffic police, in addition to a number of cranes for lighting maintenance with a length of 18 meters, as well as a mechanism for removing dust and waste.

In the health and population sector, the committee agreed to purchase a modern ambulance for Al-Sadaqa Hospital and approve the provision of medical equipment and supplies to health facilities after conducting a review on the quality and specifications of the equipment, in addition to a number of other projects for which the committee decided to announce their tenders in the coming days through the media in preparation for receiving bids of applicants.

The committee also touched on the project of providing equipment and mechanisms for the hygiene fund, approving the procedures for it.

The Tenders Committee in the capital, Aden, agreed to complete the rest of the procedures for the projects of the program in preparation for the announcement of the public tender in the coming days.

The 36 projects included in the emergency program in its first phase target six service sectors, namely water, sanitation, health, population, public works, roads, electricity, hygiene, improvement and traffic police within the governorate’s emergency plan aimed at addressing some of the problems of these important service sectors

The current package of projects is part of a series of comprehensive project packages that are expected to be implemented by the local authority in the capital, Aden, in a number of service sectors during the coming period.
