The Administrative Board of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council held its regular meeting on Wednesday, chaired by Mr. Ali Al-Kathiri, President of the National Assembly and Acting President of the Council.

At the beginning of the meeting, which was attended by Mr. Essam Abdo, Vice President of the National Assembly, the Administrative Board commended the efforts of President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council and Vice President of the Presidential Leadership Council, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. His meetings with brothers, ambassadors of peace-sponsoring countries, and diplomatic missions discussed ways to support the government in implementing comprehensive reforms in state institutions and finding urgent solutions to the economic, living, and service collapse.

The Administrative Board affirmed its full support for the efforts of President Al-Zubaidi and Prime Minister Salem bin Braik, as well as the government’s reform plan to curb corruption stemming from successive governments and the weak performance of government institutions, which has exacerbated citizens’ living conditions.

The Board also reviewed the report of the Thought and Guidance Committee on the importance of raising awareness of the issue of the people of the South in primary and secondary schools. This is to ensure the development of an informed, engaged, and responsible generation that instills a spirit of citizenship and establishes a future of peace and stability.

The National Assembly’s Culture and Tourism Committee reviewed a report on a database containing a comprehensive inventory of local and international laws and legislation related to antiquities, tourist sites and landmarks, artistic works, ancient writings, murals, cultural libraries, architectural buildings, and historic parks.

At the conclusion of its meeting, the body commended the success of the International Day of Parliamentary Work event, during which the National Assembly welcomed a number of students from universities in the South as part of an introductory program on the work of the Southern Parliament. The body emphasized that the people of the South are eager to join the peoples and parliaments of the world in celebrating this occasion and the humanitarian and cultural value it represents.
