The Chamber of Commerce in Aden discusses with the Ambassador of the Republic of Ethiopia mutual trade cooperation

Mr. Abu Bakr Ba’obaid, the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Aden, received in his office at the headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce in Aden, along with the head of the Investment Authority, Mr. Ali Ahmed Jarhum, His Excellency the Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Mr. Faisal Ali Ibrahim.
In the meeting, the head of the Chamber of Commerce in Aden reviewed the tasks and roles carried out by the Aden Chamber, especially during the current economic conditions resulting from the war that greatly affected the private sector, whose businesses and facilities were destroyed, which forced a number of merchants to transfer much of their businesses abroad, but despite that, they maintained part of it inside and their relationship with work inside the country still exists, stressing that despite the difficult circumstances, the private sector will return to work, construction and reconstruction and needs support and assistance to implement these matters.
Ba’obaid pointed to the possibility of achieving a twinning between the Chamber of Commerce in Aden and Ethiopia, hoping that the Businessmen Council between the two countries will be revived again, with the provision of investment opportunities available to both sides and the provision of various facilities for traders and businessmen to benefit from the available investment opportunities.
For his part, His Excellency the Ethiopian Ambassador, Faisal, expressed his happiness to visit Aden and meet with officials of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Aden, praising the historical popular and commercial relations between the two countries, noting that the people of Ethiopia appreciate this relationship and wish security and stability for the Yemeni people, and look forward to more economic cooperation and trade exchange between the two sides, stressing the Ethiopian government’s readiness to provide all possible facilities for traders, businessmen and investors.
For his part, Mr. Ali Jarhum, Chairman of the General Investment Authority, expressed his happiness to meet the Ambassador of the Republic of Ethiopia, and said that we welcome all investors and we have one of the best investment laws, stressing the Authority’s readiness to provide all possible facilities for Ethiopian businessmen and investors in our country. The meeting was attended by Sheikh Salem Mohammed Al-Saadi, Vice President of the Aden Chamber of Commerce for Commercial Affairs, Mr. Iqbal Mohammed Munir, Director General of the Chamber of Commerce, and Eng. Ashraf Khanbari, Deputy Director General of Aden Chamber.
