The Chamber of Commerce in Aden, witnesses the launch of “Women’s Protection, Leading to Community Development” project

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Aden witnessed, in Aden the capital, the launch of the “Women’s Protection, Leading to Community Development” project funded by the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action, UN Women, the Yemen office, in partnership with “For All Foundation for Development”.
The project, which was attended by Eng. Ashraf Khanbari, Deputy Director General of Aden Chamber of Commerce and Industry, aims to directly reach approximately 18,000 displaced women and girls, survivors of violence, and those affected by gender-based violence (GBV) in the governorates of Aden and Taiz. Through these women, the project aims to reach more than 125,000 family and community members in the two governorates as indirect beneficiaries, with the aim of achieving true sustainability.
This project also aims to develop the institutional capacity of civil and public institutions working to manage gender-based violence cases, increase access to specialized support services in psychological, legal, safety, and protection aspects, and raise awareness and understanding of women’s and girls’ rights among all members of society through awareness and education campaigns.
The “Women’s Protection, Leading to Community Development” project, which will extend over 12 months in coordination with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor and local authorities, operates on the front lines in safe spaces and protection centers run by the government and civil sectors, to empower women, improve the capacity of local service providers, and strengthen legal, psychological, and social systems.
