The General Directorate of Foreign Affairs of STC holds its periodic meeting headed by Al-Sharafi

The General Directorate of Foreign Affairs of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), on Sunday, in its headquarters in Aden the capital, held its periodioc meeting, headed by Mr. Anis Al-Sharafi, Deputy Head of the Directorate.

In the meeting, which was attended by heads of the foreign affairs sections in the capital, Aden, and its representatives abroad via visual communication, Al-Sharafi reviewed updates of the comprehensive political process and political developments on the local, regional and international arena.

Al-Sharafi renewed STC’s blessing for the efforts of the Arab coalition led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, stressing the importance of stabilizing the ceasefire on the fronts to ensure everyone’s involvement in the political process, until reaching a comprehensive and sustainable solution in the region, and at the forefront of that is resolving the issue of the people of the South, including the restoration and building of their independent federal state on the borders of pre-May 1990.

Al-Sharafi stressed the adherence of STC to its firm position regarding the priority of the issue of the people of the South and its inclusion in the political track within its own negotiating framework that suits the importance of the South as an active party in the political process, indicating that the two-state solution is the only way to a comprehensive solution and to achieve lasting peace, and security and stability in the region.

Al-Sharafi listened to briefings by representatives of foreign affairs in the Russian Federation and the Swiss Confederation, on diplomatic contacts, activities and programs implemented during the first quarter of current year, and a number of decisions related to strengthening diplomatic communication and developing the performance of foreign affairs to be taken.
