The General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council held its regular meeting on Monday, in the capital, Aden, chaired by Mr. Mohammed Al-Shaqi, Assistant Secretary-General for Governorates and Coordination Affairs.
The meeting discussed the report on the political scene in the southern national arena during the first half of June, submitted by the Political Department. The report addressed key developments, including the repercussions of the Iran-Israel war on the region, and the south in particular, and the campaigns targeting the southern security and military establishment amid the Houthi militia’s continued aggression against southern armed forces positions on several border fronts.
The meeting also discussed a report on school curricula submitted by the Education Department, which addressed the targeting of school curricula and the methodology for instilling intellectual, social, and political awareness among students in schools to obliterate the identity and history of the south, in a continuation of the cultural and political hegemony over the south. The report reviewed methods for analyzing, evaluating, modifying, and developing curricula to reflect the reform of the education system and creating awareness among generations about the southern national identity.
The meeting addressed the most prominent developments on the ground in the southern governorates, related to the basic services the people of the south are suffering from, most notably electricity, water, and health.
The Secretariat reviewed the minutes of its previous meeting and approved them, taking into account the comments.
