The Governor of Aden Lamlas meets the US ambassador
Mr. Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, the Governor of Aden, met on Saturday, in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, with the US ambassador to Yemen, Christopher Henzel.
In the meeting, the governor of Aden discussed with the US ambassador a number of issues and files related to the political situation, opportunities to support peace in Yemen, the efforts of the brothers in the Arab coalition in combating terrorism and addressing the crisis in the southern governorates and liberated areas, and ways to normalize life there.
The governor of Aden pointed to the great role of the brothers in the Arab coalition in addressing the crisis in the liberated governorates and its implications for the general situation in them, referring to the efforts made by the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that resulted in finding a mechanism to accelerate the implementation of the terms of the Riyadh Agreement and the consensus of the parties to give priority to the supreme interest and the importance of uniting efforts, and strengthening the home front, paying attention to addressing service crises and normalizing life that has stumbled throughout the past years, and the capital, Aden.
Lamlas pointed out that moving forward with the implementation of the roadmap drawn up by the the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will contribute to stabilizing security and stability, combating terrorism and extremism, and draining its sources, in addition to being an important and paving step for international and regional efforts in their endeavors towards a comprehensive settlement and ending the war in Yemen.
The Governor of Aden appreciated the role played by the United States of America in combating terrorism and supporting political efforts and solutions to establish a lasting and sustainable peace, noting that the coming circumstances, in parallel with the further implementation of the Riyadh Agreement, will contribute in strengthening the efforts of the United States and its endeavors to combat terrorism in the region.
The Governor of Aden expressed his aspiration to support friends in the United States of America through strengthening relations and joint cooperation at the level of support for development efforts in the capital Aden on a number of levels.
For his part, the American ambassador affirmed the United States ’support for the efforts made by the leadership of the Arab coalition and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by activating the Riyadh Agreement and reaching a mechanism to accelerate the implementation of the agreement, pointing to the continued support of the United States at all levels, especially in Aden, which would contribute to strengthening Security and stability.
