The joint forces seize a shipment of smuggled weapons and ammunition in Mayfa’a

The Joint Forces, on Thursday, thwarted smuggling of a shipment of weapons and ammunition, during an inspection of a car at one of the security points in Mayfa’a district of Shabwa Governorate.
The deputy commander of the joint forces in the governorate of Shabwa, Lieutenant Colonel Aseel Ahmed bin Rashid, said in a press statement that they were able to seize the shipment and the smugglers, as they impersonated them as their belonging to one of the security authorities in the governorate.
Bin Rashid pointed out that preliminary investigations with the defendants revealed that the shipment was on its way to be smuggled across the coast of Shabwa to the State of Somalia, pointing out that the investigation is continuing with the perpetrators and they will be referred to the competent authorities to complete the legal procedures.
The deputy commander of the joint forces confirmed that the security services in Shabwa governorate, under the directives of the head of the security committee, the governor, Awad bin Al-Wazir, and the director general of the governorate’s police, Brigadier General Fouad Al-Nasi, will not be complacent and will strike with an iron fist against anyone who tries to destabilize the security and stability of Shabwa.
