The Minister Of Finance Discusses With The United Nations Economic Advisor The Economic And Financial Challenges

The Minister of Finance, Salem Ben Brik, in the capital, Aden, held a meeting with the Economic Advisor to the Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General to Yemen, Dirk Jahn.
The meeting discussed the latest developments in the difficult economic and financial conditions facing the country, in addition to the impact of the continued crimes of the Houthi terrorist militia supported by the Iranian regime on the Yemeni economy.
The meeting, which was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance for the Foreign Relations Sector, Dr. Nasr Al-Harbi, and the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry, Abdul Qader Amin, reviewed the seriousness of the Houthis’ aggressive practices, their targeting of international shipping, and their blockade of the export of crude oil, which led to exacerbation of economic and financial challenges and increased human suffering.
Minister Ben Brik stressed the government’s keenness to continue reform efforts with the support of the Presidential Leadership Council and brotherly and friendly countries, expressing his appreciation for the support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and the international efforts to achieve peace and alleviate suffering.
The meeting reviewed the government’s efforts in confronting economic challenges, developing resources, combating corruption, and the continuing need for international support to achieve stability.
For his part, the UN official expressed his appreciation for the government’s efforts to improve economic conditions and provide basic services to citizens.
