The Minister of Transport and Chairman of the General Authority of Civil Aviation lay foundation stone for General Authority of Civil Aviation building project

The Minister of Transport, Dr. Abdulsalam Saleh Humaid, along with the Chairman of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology, Captain Saleh bin Nahid, laid the foundation stone for the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology building project at Aden International Airport in the capital, Aden. The project covers an area of 5,700 square meters and consists of three floors that accommodate all sectors and departments within the Authority, in addition to a main meeting hall and a lobby for exhibitions and workshops related to aviation activity, in addition to parking and green spaces.
Minister Humaid indicated that the project’s completion period will be between one and a year and a half, with the Authority’s own funding. He explained that the project’s cost will be determined by a public tender, which will be issued immediately after Ramadan. He congratulated the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology, the Ministry, and the aviation sector on this occasion, noting the laying of the foundation stone two months ago for the main maintenance workshop of Yemenia Airlines. All of these projects are part of the construction of the aviation sector’s infrastructure in the capital, Aden.
For his part, the Chairman of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology expressed his happiness at the laying of the foundation stone for the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology building, stressing that this year is a year of achievements for the Authority, given its programs and projects that have been completed and others that are underway.
The Minister of Transport and the Chairman of the Authority also toured the site of the General Authority of Civil Aviation building project to review the project’s planned area, its technical aspects, and its compliance with the specifications and standards set for international civil aviation requirements.
