The Minister of Transport directs to reconsider prices of air ticket between Aden and Socotra

The Minister of Transport, Dr. Abdul Salam Humaid, on Wednesday, accompanied by the Undersecretary for the Air Transport Sector, Eng. Tariq Abdo, paid an inspection visit to the airline company.

Minister Humaid reviewed the work progress in a number of departments, including air services, operations, commercial and administrative affairs, legal and financial affairs, control and automated reservations.

Together with the Chairman of the Company’s Board of Directors, Captain Nasser Mahmoud, Humaid checked on work in all departments and divisions, efforts to provide services, and the work of expanding the administration building.

In his meeting with the company’s general managers, Dr. Humaid discussed the file of the company’s assets being held in Sana’a banks by the Iran-backed Houthi militias, and ways to recover the seized funds.

The Minister assigned the Civil Aviation Authority to cooperate with the company in choosing the appropriate location for the construction of a regional hangar for aircraft maintenance at Aden International Airport, laying the foundation stone and announcing the tender within weeks.

The Minister of Transport stressed the necessity of setting a date for the inauguration of laying the foundation stone for the construction of the company’s main building in Al-Arish area in KhorMaksar, directing attention to maintenance work for the company’s aircraft and hangars and continuing modernization to advance the capabilities of the national carrier.

He directed for the reconsideration of ticket prices for domestic flights between Aden and Socotra, in proportion to the purchasing capabilities of travelers, and to stimulate and encourage tourism movement in the archipelago.

Dr. Abdul Salam Humaid appreciated the company’s efforts since assuming its duties to develop its work mechanism and enhance its assets by supplying it with a fleet of aircraft and adding new assets of equipment for ground services.
