The Minister of Transport discusses projects to raise efficiency of airports

The Minister of Transport, Dr. Abdul Salam Saleh Humaid, in a meeting held at the General Authority of Civil Aviation, on Tuesday, in the capital, Aden, discussed the conditions of airports, especially Aden International Airport.
Humaid reviewed the rate of completion of development projects and the purchase of equipment and devices related to improving the services provided at airports and the difficulties facing their activities.
The meeting touched on the needs of Aden International Airport for devices, equipment and projects within the interventions of the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program and the General Authority of Civil Aviation.
The Minister discussed the conditions of Ataq and Mokha airports, and directed the authority’s specialists to complete the operation and equipment work for the two airports in accordance with the standards and conditions of the International Civil Aviation Organization and the capabilities available to the authority.
He stressed the speedy completion of the supply of devices and equipment for communications, lighting, inspection devices, and sweepers for the runways from abroad, according to the tenders previously approved by the authority to enhance the efficiency of Aden International Airport.
Minister Humaid directed the necessity of implementing priority projects to raise the efficiency and performance of airports, expressing the ministry’s keenness to strengthen the transportation sector due to its importance in serving the economic sectors and society.
