The Minister of Transport welcomes opportunities for cooperation with Somalia

Dr. Abdul Salam Humaid, Minister of Transport, on Tuesday, welcomed the Somali Ambassador to our country, Abdullahi Hashi Shoriah, in his office at the Ministry’s General Office in the capital, Aden.

Minister Humaid praised the political and economic recovery of the state of Somalia, looking forward to the success of the federal government in Somalia in overcoming the crisis of terrorist and extremist movements, and establishing security and stability in the country.

“The two countries share historical relations, social ties, and common interests in various fields,” Humaid said, expressing the Ministry of Transport’s readiness to provide all facilities and cooperation in the sector to serve the two peoples.

He stressed that the situation is safe in the capital, Aden, and the rest of the liberated governorates, where airports and ports are located in Aden, Hadramaut, and others.

Humaid expressed his welcome to any air and sea activity between the two sides, in response to the Somali ambassador’s request to open flights between the two countries, stressing that all facilities will be provided.

For his part, the Somali ambassador pointed to the importance of security coordination between the two countries to stop any illegal immigration, calling for organizing the travel of Somalis from Aden to their homeland of Somalia through the embassy.

He also praised the security and stability situation in the capital, Aden, in addition to the development situation it is witnessing.
