The National Assembly concludes its fourth session with important decisions and recommendations

The National Assembly of the Transitional Council concluded, on Thursday, its fourth session in the capital, Aden, which was held under the slogan “Completing the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement is our demand and restoring the state is our goal.”
On the closing day, Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, the Chairman of the National Assembly, delivered a speech in which he expressed thanks to the members of the National Assembly for their interaction and discussion of all issues on the session’s agenda.
The session came out with a number of recommendations and praised the successes achieved by the Council in terms of foreign relations and bringing the issue of the South to the highest levels.
The session saluted the political leadership and the negotiating delegation with their achievements and their patience and wisdom in confronting the other party and their evasion of completing the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement.
The session also praised the efforts of the Arab Coalition countries, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
The fourth session stressed the need to expedite the formation of the joint negotiating team in the negotiating process that will be sponsored by the United Nations and to prepare a vision for resolving the issue of the south on the basis of the two-state solution.
The session recommended the continuation of the serious southern dialogue to reach southern political consensus that would lead to reach a basic guarantee for achieving the aspirations of the people of the south and involving the various groups of the people in building their future, praising in this regard the role of the council’s political leadership in order to strengthen national cohesion.
The session final statement stressed the need to pay attention to training and qualifying the armed and security forces, and the related regulations and laws, and recommended the Defense and Security Committees to prepare studies and perceptions for the development of the military and security sector.
The statement also recommended the political leadership to communicate with the Arab coalition, and the countries allied against terrorism, to support our armed forces and security services, and to enhance their military and logistical capabilities to confront challenges and combat terrorism.
The session commended the steps taken by the governor of the capital, Aden, to improve the service, economic and security conditions, stressing the importance of activating the revenue vessels and collecting their supply in favor of improving service conditions.
The session also recommended the Economic Committee of the Transitional Council, the Planning, Development and Investment Committee of the National Assembly, and the Economic Department of the General Secretariat, to develop visions and an economic action plan to revive the economic and service situation.
In conclusion, the final statement emphasized the development of partnership with brothers and friends to ensure relations and common interests.
It also stressed that any unilateral decisions after the Riyadh Agreement will lead to the torpedoing of the agreement, and accordingly confirms strict adherence to what is stipulated in the Riyadh Agreement and canceling any decisions contrary to that.
The National Assembly final statement discussed and approved all the documents of its fourth session after enriching them with the main observations received.
