Mr. Essam Abdo Ali, Vice President of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council, met on Monday, with Dr. Ahmed Muthanna Al-Bishi, Director General of the Health and Population Office in Aden.
The meeting, attended by Mr. Nasr Harhara, Rapporteur of the Assembly, discussed the general health situation in the capital and the efforts made by the Health Office to improve the level of services, particularly in light of the spread of seasonal fevers resulting from stagnant water pools, which have become a fertile environment for the spread of diseases.
The meeting also discussed the most prominent challenges facing the Health Office, and urgent solutions were developed to contribute to improving performance and overcoming current obstacles.
Essam praised the significant efforts made by the Health Office and its staff, especially in light of the difficult circumstances and ongoing challenges, stressing that the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council places health at the forefront of its priorities, given its essential role in protecting society and ensuring its stability.
He called on all citizens to interact positively with health authorities and avoid rumors and misinformation. He emphasized the importance of community solidarity in confronting any health emergency with a spirit of responsibility and cooperation, especially in the environmental sanitation process.
For his part, Dr. Al-Bishi explained that the existing fevers are part of the normal seasonal situation, and that the rumors circulating on social media about the alarming spread of fevers are not based on field facts, but rather aim to stir confusion and anxiety among citizens.
