The National Assembly discusses repercussions of displaced persons influx to Hadhramaut Valley

The Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council, Chairman of the National Assembly, Mr. Ali Al-Kathiri, got briefed during his reception of the Head of the Executive Unit for the Management of Displaced Persons Camps in Hadhramaut Valley, Yazid Al-Jabri, about the repercussions of the continued influx of displaced persons to the valley.

The meeting, that was held on Thursday, in the capital, Aden, addressed the problems resulting from the displacement crisis on the service sector in light of the decline in projects that address the issues of the displaced.

Al-Kathiri called for limiting the numbers of displaced persons in the valley and the desert, to facilitate the provision of services to them and ensure that humanitarian aid from donor organizations reaches those who deserve it, rejecting any attempts to settle the displaced in the southern governorates.

He called on the Executive Unit for the Management of Displaced Persons Camps in Hadhramaut Valley to coordinate with the Ministries of Social Affairs and Planning and International Cooperation, and international organizations, to ensure the voluntary return of the displaced to their safe governorates, and to address any problems in the host community.
