The Political Body of STC Discusses Political Developments and Appreciates President Al-Zubaidi’s Visits to the Southern Governorates

The Political Body assisting the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its regular meeting for the first half of March in the capital, Aden, on Thursday, chaired by Dr. Khaled Bamdhaf, the body’s vice president.
During the meeting, the political body reviewed the monitoring report on the political scene at the local and international levels. Members discussed the most prominent developments related to the issue of the people of the south, as well as the political and economic challenges facing the south in light of the current situation and ways to address them.
The body also heard a comprehensive report on the military situation, presented by Brigadier General Fadl Ma’bad, head of the Moral Guidance Division of the Southern Ground Forces. The report reviewed the military situation on various border fronts against the Houthi militia and related field developments.
The participants commended the field visits conducted by President Aidarous bin Qasim Al-Zubaidi to various southern governorates, stressing that these tours reflect the leadership’s commitment to engaging with the masses and addressing their concerns and suffering. This strengthens southern unity and reflects the Council’s commitment to representing the aspirations of the people of the south.
They also discussed the importance of President Al-Zubaidi’s visit, noting its role in enhancing direct communication with citizens and local leaders and providing a close look at the needs of the southern governorates. This will contribute to formulating policies that meet the aspirations of the people of the south and effectively address current challenges.
Separately, the meeting discussed the importance of the US administration’s decision to designate the Houthi militia as a terrorist organization, stressing the need for the international community and international legitimacy to recognize and implement it. This will ensure the militia is deterred from its hostile practices and open the way for more effective action to confront it at the political, military, and economic levels.
In the meeting, the body stressed the need for politics to be able to achieve its goals without resorting to war. It emphasized the importance of successfully finding real solutions based on political reality, which contributes to achieving stability and serving the aspirations of the people of the South.
At the conclusion of its meeting, the political body considered the latest developments on its agenda, approved the previous minutes, and submitted its proposals and recommendations.
