The political body of STC holds its periodic meeting and discusses developments of local and regional situation

The Auxiliary Political Body of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), headed by Dr. Khaled Bamdhaf, deputy head of the Body, on Thursday, in the capital, Aden, held its periodic meeting for the first half of February 2024.

In the meeting, the participants read and approved the minutes of the previous meeting, reviewing two reports on the general local and international political scene, as well as the military ones presented by Brigadier General Fadl Maabad, Director of the Moral Guidance Department of the Southern Armed Forces, to review the latest developments in the general military situation, and the military developments witnessed by the southern governorates in various areas of the fronts adjacent to the Iranian-backed Houthi militia.

The Political Body discussed the new changes to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, stressing the importance of the government playing its urgent role to improve the deteriorating economic reality, bring about tangible changes in all state institutions, revive the service situation and the necessity of alleviating the suffering of citizens in the southern governorates.

The meeting stressed the importance of understanding the strategy indicated by President Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, the President of the Southern Transitional Council, Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, in his guiding speech regarding dealing with and following up on the government’s performance at all levels.

The Political Body discussed the recent terrorist attacks by the Houthi militia in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait, which inflicted heavy losses on the economies of the countries of the region and the country, and which may hinder efforts to reach a comprehensive agreement.

The Political Body of STC reviewed the latest developments on its agenda and presented its proposals and recommendations.
