The Political Body of STC Holds its Periodic Meeting and Emphasizes Strengthening and Consolidating Concept of Southern Identity

The Political Body assisting the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its periodic meeting for the second half of March in the capital, Aden, on Thursday, chaired by Dr. Khaled Ba Madhaf, deputy head of the Body.
During the meeting, the body discussed the monitoring report on the political landscape at the local and international levels. The report reviewed the latest developments related to the issue of the people of the South, as well as current political and economic challenges and ways to address them.
The Political Body also listened to a comprehensive briefing on military developments, presented by Brigadier General Fadl Ma’bad, Head of the Moral Guidance Division of the Southern Ground Forces. He addressed the military situation on the border fronts with the terrorist Houthi militia and related field developments.
In the context of regional developments, the Political Body discussed the latest developments related to the US strikes on Houthi militia sites, emphasizing the importance of President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi’s speech regarding the need to eradicate these terrorist militias and the need to continue efforts to confront their ongoing threats to security and stability in the south and the region.
Separately, the Political Body emphasized the importance of consolidating and strengthening the concept of Southern identity, as it is the cornerstone of protecting the southern national fabric and strengthening the spirit of belonging. It emphasized the need to intensify community and institutional efforts to raise awareness of the history of the south and its just cause, and to confront attempts to obliterate or distort this identity. It noted that preserving Southern identity is a fundamental pillar in building a stable and prosperous future for the people of the south.
At the conclusion of its meeting, the Political Body congratulated the people of the south on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, wishing everyone goodness, blessings, and prosperity, and that the south enjoys security, stability, and prosperity. It also emphasized the importance of solidarity and unity to confront current challenges and achieve the aspirations of the people of the south
