The Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council holds its periodic meeting headed by Al-Khobaji

The Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council held its first periodic meeting for this week on Saturday, under the chairmanship of Dr. Nasser Mohammad Al-Khobaji, Acting President of the Council, Head of the Negotiations Affairs Unit.

In the meeting was held in the presence of the cabinet ministers in the parity government, the council’s advisor for security and military affairs, the security directors of the capital Aden, and the governorate of Lahj, and leaders of the backup and support forces, security belt, Al-Asifa brigade, and the special security forces, in which the Presidency saluted the masses of our great people who are resisting all kinds of oppression and suffering, blockade, epidemics, high cost of living, and the collapse of the economic situation,  suspension of salaries,  war of services and the systematic policies directed by the influential parties in the joints of the state administration, confirming that all of these did not undermine the determination and will of the southerners and their belief in the power of truth and the legitimacy of the cause for which they are fighting, regardless of the sacrifices.

The Presidency also paid tribute to the heroes of the southern armed forces stationed in the fronts in each of Al-Dhali, Al-Sabiha, Yafea, Thurah, Ahwar, and others, in the face of the invaders and those threatening the security and stability of the homeland in this holy month, praising the victories achieved in Ahwar and the central region in Abyan and the rest of the fronts, breaking the Brotherhood militia lurking in the south.

The Presidency renewed its call for the necessity to strengthen the efforts of the Southern Armed Forces and the honest and supportive forces, and to raise their vigilance and readiness, to protect the security and stability of the South, and to eradicate the scourge of terrorism, and to control terrorist elements, murderers, perpetrators of crimes, perpetrators of warfare and kidnappings, and those who mess with services, rumors changers, to raid their hideouts and bringing them to justice .

The meeting condemned the hostilities carried out by the Brotherhood militia in Shabwa governorate, that preventing implementing the social and humanitarian programs and activities sponsored by the council, foremost among which is the provision of medical equipment to hospitals and medical centers to help them cope with the Corona pandemic, as well as the arrest of a number of those in charge of the fasting breakfast initiative in Ataq city.

The meeting touched on the developments in the south as a result of the outbreak of the Corona pandemic, and the increase in cases and deaths in the south, stressing the importance of using the available resources, organizing dealing with and benefiting from them, including aspects of support provided by specialized international organizations and not to tamper with them, as well as besieging the pandemic and preventing its spread. .

The meeting praised the efforts of the leaderships and central and local medical institutions that work silently in the service of the nation and the citizens, leading to self-sacrifice by a number of medical missions.

On the other hand, the meeting stressed the importance of the government’s presence in the capital, Aden, in this difficult circumstance, and carrying out its tasks in managing the electricity, water and services files, and facing the obligations entrusted to it in finding solutions to economic conditions and taking decisive decisions regarding them, and regarding its laggard administration with full force and firmness in accordance with the law.

Regarding the organizational issue, the Presidency praised Ramadan program prepared by the General Secretariat and the rest of the council’s bodies, which included implementing the initiative of breakfast, holding evenings and meeting with social, creative and societal faces, and what has been accomplished in this regard, as a symbolic process that confirms the leadership’s keenness to strengthen bridges of communication and the sharing of suffering  and difficulties with the southern citizens.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Presidency stood on the ongoing preparations for the celebration of the fourth anniversary of the historic Aden Declaration and the establishment of the Transitional Council, calling on the council’s bodies to evoke the historical and exceptional importance of this event.
