The Presidential Guidance and Oversight Team of STC Meets Deputy Minister of Water and Environment

The Presidential Guidance and Oversight Team of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), headed by Yahya Ghaleb Al-Shuaibi, member of the Southern Transitional Council Presidency, and Ali Ahmed Al-Jefri, Vice President of the Executive Authority of the Southern Transitional Council Local Leadership in Hadhramaut Governorate, met Sunday, at the Authority’s headquarters in Mukalla, with the Deputy Minister of Water and Environment, Mujahid bin Afrar.
At the beginning of the meeting, Al-Shuaibi welcomed the attendees and reviewed the Guidance and Oversight Team’s responsibilities, which include an organizational aspect related to the Transitional Council’s bodies, and a coordination aspect aimed at strengthening partnerships and integration with local authorities and ministry offices in the governorate.
Al-Shuaibi praised the efforts of the Deputy Minister of Water and Environment and his fieldwork, describing them as reflecting the spirit of the new phase in building state institutions that had been marginalized in previous periods. He emphasized that the current phase is one of building institutions and strengthening their presence in the field.
For his part, Bin Afrar gave a brief overview of his recent field visits to the governorates of Abyan, Shabwa, and Hadhramaut, explaining that their goal was to improve services and enhance the performance of local institutions in serving citizens.
Bin Afrar emphasized that the ministry is operating during a difficult period that requires redoubled efforts and a sense of national responsibility. He emphasized the importance of continuous coordination with local authorities to ensure the sustainability of vital services.
Al-Jefri expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by the Ministry of Water and Environment to advance the services sector, emphasizing that these efforts complement the Southern Transitional Council’s vision of empowering local institutions and restoring the role of national competencies. He noted that the council’s leadership in Hadhramaut pays special attention to water and environment issues, given their importance as a priority that directly affects the lives of citizens.
