The Public Prosecution Conducts a Field Visit to Aden Free Zone Customs to Monitor Performance and Detect Violations

In implementation of the directives of the Attorney General, Judge Qaher Mustafa Ali, and under the supervision of the Head of the Public Funds Appeals Prosecution, Abdullah Salem, the Deputy Prosecutor for Taxes, Customs, and Endowments, Judge Amr Al-Abdali, conducted a field visit to the Aden Free Zone Customs. The visit aimed to review the progress of work and monitor compliance with regulations and legal procedures.

During the visit, Judge Al-Abdali met with the Director of the Free Zone Customs and listened to a detailed explanation of the documentation cycle for entering and inspecting incoming goods, starting with reception procedures and data recording, through image analysis, inspection, and auditing, and ending with automated inspection. He also conducted a field tour of the seized goods hangar, where he learned about the mechanism used by the inspection devices to detect smuggling attempts.

During the visit, a number of customs violations were detected, and the necessary legal measures were taken. In this context, Judge Al-Abdeli stressed the importance of strengthening thorough inspection procedures and intensifying the fight against smuggling, affirming that the Public Prosecution is committed to enforcing the rule of law and preventing impunity.

Judge Al-Abdeli expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by the Customs Department and security agencies, emphasizing the importance of continuing coordination and integration among the various stakeholders and working to overcome challenges to ensure enhanced performance and effective oversight within the framework of the rule of law.
