The South Celebrates the October 14 Revolution 59th Anniversary in Radfan
SMA NEWS – RADFAN
Radfan region of Lahj governorate, South Yemen, witnessed a large public celebration on the 59th anniversary of the October 14 Revolution, which took place against the British colonialism.
Thousands of participants carried the flags of the former state of South Yemen, and chanted slogans calling for the restoration of the state, in the presence of prominent Southern political and military officials.
The head of the STC National Assembly Major General Ahmed bin Break delivered a speech in which he called on the residents of Hadramaut governorate to “rise up” on Friday.
Bin Break said: “From Radfan platform, I call on the people of Hadramout in the Wadi (Valley) and Sahil (Coast) to rise up tomorrow and participate in the Seiyun event.”
The main political and tribal bodies in Hadramout governorate had called a few days ago to participate in a major event on October 14, in the city of Seiyun.
The event came within the framework of popular movements against the presence of the pro-Islah forces in the First Military District, in the oil-rich Wadi Hadramout.
