The Southern Transitional Council discusses invitation of GCC to hold consultations in Riyadh

The President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), Supreme Commander of the Southern Armed Forces, President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, on Saturday, chaired, via video conference, an extraordinary meeting of the Presidency of STC, to discuss the invitation of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), regarding the consultations to be held in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, during the period March 29 to April 17 of 2022.
In the meeting, the Presidency noted that the Southern Transitional Council, which carries a national project, is open to comprehensive consultations that ensure the presence of all concerned parties, to address pivotal issues, foremost of which is the issue of the people of the South, without any preconditions, by designing a framework that prepares for a negotiating process that guarantees a comprehensive and sustainable peace.
In accordance, and based on the adherence of the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council to the national principles of restoring and building a modern southern state, and as an extension of the partnership signed between the two parties to the Riyadh Agreement, and an affirmation of our strategic partnership with the Arab coalition countries led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Southern Transitional Council welcomes the invitation of the Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the States of the Arab Gulf, to hold political consultations in Riyadh, appreciating the efforts and endeavors of the Gulf Cooperation Council, towards supporting peace and achieving security and stability in the South and Yemen.
In the same context, the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council stressed the need to reform the state leadership system, and the importance of joining forces and finding urgent radical solutions to address the deterioration of the economic situation and the collapse of the local currency, reiterating its adherence to completing the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement.
