The Southern Transitional Council Issues a Statement About Events of Shabwa
[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Aden – Exclusive[/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″][su_dropcap]O[/su_dropcap]n Monday august 26th, 2019, the southern transitional council issued the following statement concerning the events of Shabwa:
Considering the continuous war launched by the Yemeni government against our southern people and their rightful cause, and in the light of recent escalations by northern troops against Shabwa and its Elites Forces, we assert to our southern people that will not remain helpless and we will defend our lands and our cause. We will defend the south against terrorist militias covered by the Yemeni legitimacy. Therefore, we would like to confirm the following:
• We welcome the Saudi – Emirati joint statement issued on August 26th, 2019.
• We confirm our commitment with the dialogue called for by the Servant of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Ben Ad Al-Aziz and we confirm our commitment to cease fire and calm down in Shabwa but at the same time we denounce violations of the Yemeni Government
• We are fully committed with our partnership with our brothers in the Arab Coalition in fighting the Iranian Agenda represented by Al-Houthi militias in addition to our participation in fighting terrorism that is now active under cover of the Yemeni government. This is clear in the continuous aggression against Shabwa as Muslim Brotherhood Militias backed with terrorist groups returned to occupy the territory.
• We demand the Arab Coalition to device suitable mechanisms for cease fire.
• We demand our southern troops fighting Al-Houthis outside the south to clearly express their attitude from such aggression represented in pushing more northern troops into the south to reoccupy it again as it is not acceptable anymore to liberate northern territories while the north is launching war over the south.
• We hold the Yemeni government fully responsible for targeting Shabwa Elites Troops and returning terrorist groups to Shabwa after being expelled from it. We demand the international society to take a clear attitude about current events and to support southern armed forces in its war against terrorist groups that disturb regional security and freedom of navigation.
• We are committed to supporting Shabwa Elites Forces with all possible means to continue its heroic role in securing Shabwa against terrorism.
We pray to God to Give mercy to martyrs, quick healing to the injured and freedom to captives
