The start of issuing the smart chip ID card in Shabwa

Awad bin Al-Wazir, Governor of Shabwa, on Thursday, launched the civil status system for issuing ID cards with a smart chip, in the city of Ataq, accompanied by Brigadier General Ahmed Nasser Lahoul, Deputy Director of the Governorate Police.
Al-Wazir said that the project of the new automated system for the smart personal card represents a unique experience that is consistent with the government’s goals in the technological and electronic field to develop the information aspect.
The Governor of Shabwa thanked the workers in the Civil Status Authority for linking Shabwa Governorate to the main center of the system, stressing that the local authority pays great attention to the police and security sector in light of its readiness to arrange facilities for the success of the project and to serve the nation.
In turn, Captain Saleh Nasser Fuhaid, Acting Director General of the Civil Status and Civil Registry Authority branch, Shabwa, revealed that the new smart chip card project is one of the national projects, stressing that the authority is working to provide all the necessary capabilities to make it successful with the latest technological and electronic systems to enable citizens to obtain documents that proof the identity.
