SMA NEWS – ADEN THE CAPITAL
The Administrative Body of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its routine weekly meeting on Wednesday, headed by Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Chairman of the National Assembly and Acting President of the STC.
In the beginning of the meeting, which was attended by Mr. Essam Abdo, Deputy Chairman of the Assembly, Mr. Al-Kathiri praised the bravery of the Southern Armed Forces stationed at the frontlines, highlighting their vital role in defending the Southern homeland and emphasizing that safeguarding the Southern Armed Forces and security is essential for maintaining the security and stability of the South and the just cause of its people.
The Chairman of the National Assembly highlighted that forces opposing the South are actively working to target the Southern Armed Forces and Security Services in various ways. He called on the people of the South to unite and cooperate in confronting any suspicious activities, countering all rumors spread by these forces, and standing firmly against any forces aiming to undermine the security and stability of the South.
Subsequently, the body focused on the political developments in the South, unequivocally rejecting any attempts to revive and empower the political parties that invaded the South in 1994, particularly those that have aligned themselves and normalized with the Houthi militia, asserting that there is now no place for such forces in the South today.
The administrative body categorically rejected organizing any political activities or events within the territory of the South by political parties that oppose the cause of the people of the South, calling on our people to be vigilant against any attempts to conduct political activities aimed at undermining the aspirations of the people of the South for freedom and the restoration of their state.
Furthermore, the administrative body emphasized the government’s role to assume its responsibility towards the people of the South, recommending that the Presidium of the STC closely oversee the government’s performance and consider all possible options for any failures that could subject the people of the South to further suffering and a deterioration in services and living conditions.
Separately, the body touched on the preparations underway in all governorates of the South for the launch of the new school year, urging local authorities to begin making adequate arrangements for the school year and to create a conducive learning environment for students. The body also stressed the importance of private schools maintaining affordable tuition fees.
In its meeting, the administrative body reviewed a report submitted by the media committee that assessed the state of official media in the South and underlined its crucial and pivotal role, which is equally important as the political and military dimensions.
The report highlighted the significance of bringing the two long-established media institutions, Aden Television and Radio, into service from the capital, Aden. It also called for the revival of the Aden News Agency.
The media report discussed a range of shortcomings in the work of certain government-run media institutions. It further provided a set of recommendations and solutions for the topics being discussed.
