There Will Be No More United Yemen: Emirati Academic
[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Exclusive[/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″][su_dropcap]A[/su_dropcap]bd Al-Khalek Abdullah, professor of political sciences in UAE University, asserted that the Yemeni union between the north and south is over. In a tweet on tweeter, Abdullah said: ” There Will Be No More United Yemen, Not After Today”.
A number of southern politicians, writers and activists, commented on this tweet.
Yasser Al-Yafaie, a southern journalist, said: “Union of hearts died for good. Our brother Abd Al-Khalek said the truth. Why are u=you attacking him. A little dignity my dear northern”. “This union ended in 1994. Finally, union should be based on mutual agreement. The problem of our northern brothers is that they are seeking their dignity in the south as if they suffer an inferiority complex that will not be recovered but in the south”.
Adel Al-Shubhi, a southern politician, asserted the truth of Abd Al-Khalek saying: “Only the union of criminals and mercenaries remained. They defend it with their corrupt money and bribery jobs”.
Ahmed Al-Rubaizi said: “Along history, there was no political formation that joined the north and south of Yemen geographically until 1990 when the leadership of People’s Democratic Republic of Yemen went into union with Arab Republic of Yemen. But they were betrayed by Sanaa’s regimen and their nationalistic project relapsed when Sanaa Occupied Aden”.
One tweeter, Omar, said: “The norther party, Arab Republic of Yemen, didn’t understand the true concept of union. For them it means political, economic and military domination. They only seek their interest by force. This what Al-Houthis do for their rivals now and this is what Affash/ Muslim Brotherhood ally did to the south before”.
Abu Soliman Al-Ganoubi commented: ” Good brevity makes sense. Mr. Abd Al-Khalek burnet Muslim Brotherhood activists with one line”.
