Thwarting attempt to assassinate Governor of Shabwa with an explosive device

The security services in Nisab district of Shabwa governorate, on Saturday, dismantled an explosive device, planted on the main road of (Ataq – Nisab – Bayhan), in an attempt to assassinate the governor, Awad Al-Awlaki.
Security engineering teams removed the detonator from the explosive device, and separated its electronic circuit attached to a mobile phone, which was placed in the form of a stone formed by gypsum and filled with metal projectiles.
The incident coincided with the governor bin al-Wazir’s visit to Nisab Hospital in Nisab city and a number of service facilities, on his way back, in the first assassination attempt after thwarting the Brotherhood’s military rebellion.
The security and intelligence services in the governorate began search and investigation operations to track down those involved in planting the explosive device.
Governor Al-Awlaki met with the security team responsible for dismantling the explosive device, praising their efforts and thanking the cooperation of citizens in the area with the security services and reporting the explosive device.
