Transitional Council in Hadhramaut demands the local authority to intervene to improve services
SMA NEWS – MUKALLA
The executive body of the local leadership of the Southern Transitional Council in Hadhramaut renewed its support for the just demands of citizens in obtaining basic services.
In a meeting chaired by Brigadier General Saeed Ahmed Al-Mohammadi, head of the authority, it stressed the right of citizens to demonstrate peacefully and express legitimate anger over the deterioration of the electricity system.
The executive body rejected the deteriorating state of the electricity network in Mukalla and the cities of the Hadhramaut coast, which needed rapid intervention to address it, and the local authority demanded to oblige the government to fulfill its duties towards the people of the governorate and provide basic services.
It also called on all the people of Hadhramaut to rally around the leadership of the Hadrami popular uprising, to strengthen its position, and to correct its mistakes, warning of the repercussions of underestimating popular demands.
At the meeting, the attendees discussed the crisis of disrupting studies at Hadhramaut University, due to the high transportation fees and the students’ inability to provide transportation fees, calling on the local authority to intervene to resume studies and address the transportation problem, by establishing a fund to help students from subsidized fuel revenues.
It also warned against the exploitation of the economic and service conditions by the enemies of the Hadramawt military elite and its security services, revealing forces seeking to inflame the street and push it towards chaos.
