[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – West Coast – Exclusive[/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″][su_dropcap]U[/su_dropcap]AE Red Crescent promoted the epidemic control campaign in the West Coast through providing the third mobile clinic. The medical team indicated that this clinic is provided in response to urgent needs for epidemic control launched last month as several epidemics reappeared in the West Coast directorates during the rain season.
Mobile clinics cover remote regions on the West Coast strip and refugees’ camps through field visits prepared according to clear plans. They provide their services for nearly 100-120 cases per day, most of them are diagnosed with fevers, diarrhea and other diseases.
During the past few weeks, the campaign provided the health care sector in Al-Makha, Al-Khoukha, Heis and Al-Tuhita with medication and lab solutions for controlling and treating malaria and dengue fevers in addition to severe diarrhea.
UAE Red Crescent also provided Al-Makha general hospital with two 4×4 ambulances to reach for remote regions outside the city in addition to another ambulance and a service car.
The first and second mobile clinics visited the remote villages of Azlat Al-Metina on the west coast, south west of Al-Tuhita in Al-Hodeida.
It is noteworthy that 80 infections and 5 deaths among children with cholera and severe diarrhea were registered in Al-Tuhita in one week before UAE Red Crescent medical teams interfere to control the epidemic.
