Under Commandership of the Governor and Commander of the Fourth Military Zone, National Army and Southern Resistance Liberate Strategic Areas North and West of Lahj
[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Lahj – Exclusive [/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″] In an inclusive military operation, national army troops liberated a number of strategic posts north and west of Lahj on Friday June 22nd, 2018. Official spokesman of the fourth military zone, Captain Mohamed Al-Naqueeb, indicated that under directives of Marshal Abd Rabu Mansour Hady, president of Yemen and Supreme Commander of Yemeni Armed Forces, and under direct commandership of General Ahmed Abdullah Turkey, commander of brigade 17 infantry and governor of Lahj, and General Fadl Hasan Al-Omary, commander of the fourth military zone, the national army and southern resistance troops managed to liberate several strategic mountains north and west of Lahj including Dar Sufian and Al-Sabad mountains, Al-Baiadi mountains, Al-Kannas mountain, Al-Dawary hills and Al-Suhi hill overseeing the road linking Al-Shurijah and Al-Zahedah, with backup of Arab Coalition air forces that launched accurate air raids. Troops reached Gebel Al-Asidah, a strategic mountain overseeing parts of Al-Zahedah, and other hills to the right of Al-Shurijah – Lahj, after fierce clashes with tAl-Houthi militias.
Captain Al-Naqueeb indicated that the army managed to liberate several posts where the militias were stationed in Tour Al-Baha and Hifan, including Khaled Ben Al-Waleed school and Wadi Hajma. He added that soldiers of the fifth brigade backup and support, under commandership of colonel Mukhtar Al-Nubi, restored Al-Gebel Al-Ahmar post and advanced in Hawamerah hills during the operation. Battels led to tens of killings among Al-Houthi militias in addition to arresting two captives while the rest of militants escaped.
