Violent clashes between forces of Southern Giants and Brotherhood elements in Ataq

Violent clashes erupted on Monday, between the forces of the Southern Giants and Shabwa Defense against the Brotherhood’s special forces in the city of Ataq.
The Brotherhood forces attacked a number of crews affiliated with the Giants forces in the center of Ataq, and the clashes continued for long hours until they reached the headquarters of Ataq General Hospital Authority.
The clashes lead to the killing of Laqqum Baras al-Awlaki, commander of the Brotherhood’s rapid intervention forces in Ataq military axis, in addition to the burning of a number of Brotherhood crews.
Field sources reported that the forces of the Giants and Shabwa Defense took control of most of the city of Ataq.
While there was no information available about the fate of the Brotherhood’s Special Forces commander, Abd Rabbo Lakab, who rebelled against the decision of dismissing him issued by Governor Awad al-Awlaki.
