In the recent period, there has been a large presence of Ethiopian youth from the Christian “Tigiriya” sect in the Basateen area.
Their presence is controversial, they do not have a job to work with, they do not beg in the streets, and they do not mix with anyone, even with other Ethiopians, such as the “Uromo”!
Their numbers are not small and every day they are increasing dramatically
They own cash in foreign currencies “dollars and Saudi Ryals” and do not live in camps or sidewalks
The strange thing is that they rent popular apartments and houses in the Basateen area with large sums of money, the monthly rent of which reaches a thousand Saudi Ryals and more per house, and they do not have families.
The “Tigiriya” in their country, Ethiopia, is considered rebel because of the current war between the government and the Ethiopian army and the “Tigiriya” region.
They do not receive aid from international organizations and do not deal with them, even because they are not considered refugees and the United Nations does not classify them as such. They are not illegal immigrants or are looking for work.
So what is the reason for their presence in Aden the capital, this is a confusing matter.!
