With Attendance of President Al-Zubaidi, the First Round of the Southern National Assembly Launched and Ben Brik Delivers a Speech
The first round of the southern national assembly was launched in Coral Hotel – Aden on Sunday July 8th, 2018. The launch was attended by general Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, president of the southern transitional council and members of its leaders. General Ahmed Said Ben Brik, chairman of the national assembly, delivered a speech during the launch. SMA News is publishing the speech.

Dear political leaders, commanders of the southern resistance and representatives of NGOs
It is a pleasure to welcome you in the launch of the first round of the national assembly of the southern transitional council. You are participating with us in this major southern event in the context of activating the bodies of the southern transitional council, especially the legislative body of the south, the national assembly, that will discuss during its first round several very important reports concerning legislative issues that will prepare the south for building his organizations and identify his future, in partnership of all southern powers that believe in our national right of independence and restoring our state and identity.
Dear attendants:
The southern transitional council is the result of two decades of struggle. It is the fruit of our southern people’s glorious sacrifices to get rid of all types of domination, unjust and dependence. It is our way to achieve our independence and establish our national federal sovereign state on our national soil. Therefore, we assert that the council is not limited to specific political parties or struggle components. Instead, it will always be and inclusive political body for all those who believe in independence of the south. This is clear in the invitation launched by general Aidarous Kassem Al-Zubaidi, president of the southern transitional council, for southern/southern dialogue that aims to support our southern solidarity and exhaust all tries to dismantle our southern link in addition to preparing ourselves to participate in any upcoming negotiations with a unified negotiation team led by the southern transitional council. I think you observed the meetings of the council’s leaders with southern political figures during last Ramadan and the state of harmony that resulted from these meetings. This state will be fostered during the next few weeks through dialogues with all political and social components of the south.
Ladies and gentlemen:
The national assembly of the southern transitional council has achieved many of the requirements for the launch of the national assembly’s work during the past few months following the establishment round of the assembly as all commissions and administrative departments are launched. We are still working to launch the work in the official headquarters of the assembly in Aden. Therefore, this round is of major importance for the assembly’s work and its role that the council’s presidency and our southern people rely on heavily to establish a southern legislative body that is organizational and efficient in achieving major tasks including the design of clear configuration of the desired federal southern state based on southern national partnership that achieves political, economic and social southern balance.
Dear attendants:
We appreciate the glorious victories of the security belt troops, Southern Elites’ troops and southern national resistance troops. We also assert that we will never allow these victories and successes to be in vain. We are committed with our auth to our people and our martyrs that we will fight for independence as a homeland, state and identity. In addition, we also appreciate the unlimited support provided to us by our brothers in Saudi Arabia, UAE and all countries of the Arab Coalition. This support enabled our southern national resistance to defeat Al-Houthi militias and other terrorist groups in most of the southern territories. We renew our commitment with our partnership with our brothers in the Arab Coalition to defeat the Iranian invasion agenda and to establish the main pillars of our Arab national security.
Dear brothers and sisters:
We will always be with our southern people against any conspiracies that target the diminish of our goals or deny our people of their simplest rights and services and continue the policy of impoverishment and hunger against our people. Therefore, we resent and reject all practices initiated this government imposed on us and its manipulative acts against the security of the liberated southern governorates in addition to denying our people of electricity, water, salaries and dignified life. We assert that that our people’s patience will not be for long. We warn this crippled government and its supporters of Muslim Brotherhood against provocative acts towards our people and their trials to pull us back to the situations before 2015 war. This will never happen, God wills, as the will of our people will refuse all occupation and domination projects or reproducing it in any way. We call for his excellency president Abd Rabu Mansour Hady, to whom we confirm his legitimacy, to end up these absurd acts of this manipulative government against the south. This government is trying to demolish what we achieved of great victories against Al-Houthi militias and terrorist groups all over the south.
Dear members of the national assembly:
You have major responsibilities. So, be up to the confidence and responsibilities delegated to you. I recommend you, myself and my colleagues in the presidency of the southern transitional council to remain committed the auth we took before our people and our martyrs of the revolution and resistance that we will never abandon our goal of independence for our south as a homeland, state and identity.
