With Presence of Al-Hodeida Governor, UAE Red crescent Announces New Projects in the West Coast
[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – West Coast – Exclusive [/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″] UAE Red Crescent announced the launch of several projects according to reconstruction plan of the west coast with a budget of 107.100.000 UAE Dirham.
During a press conference held in Al-Makha on Saturday October 20th, 2018 with presence of Dr. Al-Hasan Taher, governor of Al-Hodeida, Saad Al-Kaabi, head of UAE Red Crescent envoy in Yemen asserted that beneficiaries of such projects exceeded 7.187.720 citizens since its launch in the west coast indicating that projects cover education, health care, agriculture and fisheries. He added that UAE Red Crescent formed special teams to monitor the needs of villages in the west coast to establish useful projects for citizens in these villages. In his response to journalists’ questions, Al-Kaabi indicated that all projects are based on urgent needs of citizens of the west coast who depend greatly on agriculture and fisheries for their living.
Dr. Al-Hasan Taher, governor of Al-Hodeida, appreciated the efforts of UAE Red Crescent through projects that decreased the suffering of citizens caused by Al-Houthi militias in the west coast.
Al-Kaabi indicated that projects included water wells, solar water pumps, centers for mother and child health care, agricultural projects, fishing equipment, services centers for fishermen and reconstructing the international costal road that covers 143 km from Bab Al-Mandeb to Al-Hodeida. He added that small projects included bakeries, sewing workshops, carpentries, metal workshops and home-made foods projects, in addition to social awareness campaigns for land mines and war disposals.
