Al-Hefnawi gives Tunisia and Arabs the first gold medal in Tokyo

Tunisian swimmer Ayoub Al-Hefnawi achieved a historic achievement for Tunisian and Arab sports, by winning a gold medal in the 400-meter freestyle swimming race, in the competitions of the Olympic Games “Tokyo 2020”.

Tunisia becomes the only Arab country to win two medals in the current Olympics, after Mohamed Khalil Jendoubi who won the silver medal in the taekwondo competitions, on Saturday.

Thus, Ayoub Al-Hefnawi becomes the youngest Tunisian athlete (18 years old) to win for Tunisia an Olympic gold medal.
