SMA NEWS – LONDON
Arsenal have drawn first blood ahead of the new season by beating Manchester City on penalties to win the Community Shield. In a tight encounter between last season’s top two in the Premier League, Cole Palmer came off the bench to score a wonderful opener for the Treble winners in the 77th minute, but then Leandro Trossard equalized for Arsenal in the minute 90 + 11 at Wembley Stadium.
The match time ended in a draw (1-1) with the goal of Arsenal by Trossard’s late deflected effort that sent the game to penalties where Gunners prevailed, and defeated Manchester City on penalties (4-1).
