Holy Qur’an and a historical art scene decorate the opening ceremony of the Qatar 2022 World Cup

Qatar presented a wonderful ceremony at the opening of the 22nd edition of the World Cup, which started on Sunday, and will continue until 18 December 2022.
This is the first edition of the FIFA World Cup to be held in the Middle East and the Arab world.
The opening ceremony included a program consisting of 7 performances by international artists, blending Qatari traditions and global culture, during which the 32 participating teams, the previous host countries of the World Cup and the tournament volunteers were celebrated.
American international star the actor Morgan Freeman started the opening ceremony of the World Cup 2022, and appeared with Qatari Ghanim Al-Moftah, from the people of determination (disable), who is an ambassador for the World Cup 2022, reciting verses from the Holy Quran.
The ceremony witnessed an artistic segment entitled “Nostalgia World Cup”, which reviewed the previous World Cup songs with the mascot of each tournament.
Qatar also presented the 2022 World Cup mascot, “Laeeb”, the ghost who enjoys a lot of fun and wears Arab clothing.
Jungkook, the South Korean pop star, one of the seven members of BTS, performed the song (Dreamers) with Qatari singer Fahad Al Kubaisi.
A documentary film was broadcast of a group of young people playing football outdoors with the participation of Emir Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani during his youth, and Emir Hamad appeared in the cabin of Al Bayt Stadium and signed the shirt he wore decades ago.
The opening ceremony was also attended by many prominent personalities, led by Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Saudi Crown Prince, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Algerian President Abdel Majeed Tebboune, along with Gianni Infantino, President of the International Football Association (FIFA).
